Approval to accept a Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) with the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) in the amount of $800,000.00 for Customs and Border Protection (CBP) improvements at St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport (PIE).
Authorize the Chairman to execute and the Clerk to attest.

Summary:
The JPA will assist PIE in funding renovations and improvements to the CBP facility needed to comply with new CBP design standards. These improvements are necessary in order for CBP to accommodate international air service and process international passengers.
Background Information:
The project is a complete renovation of the existing Federal Inspection Services (FIS) facility, required to meet new CBP design standards. The project involves demolition and remodel of the existing interior space; interior finishes; baggage carousel, equipment and furnishings; public address system; access control and surveillance systems; electrical, fire systems, plumbing and network infrastructure.

This project is included in PIE’s CIP budget for FY2019. The project number is 002878A. Acceptance of this agreement is consistent with the FY18 estimate and the FY19 budget request submitted as part of the FY19 budget development process.
