Recommended Action
Sitting as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority, issue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) for each wheelchair/stretcher van transport provider on the attached listing.
Authorize the Chairman to sign the certificates.

Summary:
The firms on the attached provider list have completed an initial application and have met the Authority’s inspection requirement to operate as a non-medical wheelchair/stretcher van transport business in Pinellas County.
There are currently twelve (12) authorized wheelchair/stretcher transport providers in Pinellas County. This action would increase that number to fourteen (14) authorized providers. The two added providers are considered under item 18-720A. This item renews the existing providers
If approved, the COPCNs will expire June 30, 2019.
Background Information:
Pursuant to Pinellas County Code, Chapter 54, firms providing Wheelchair/Stretcher Van Transportation Services are required to obtain a COPCN in order to operate in Pinellas County. The attached applications provide details on the two new providers requesting to operate within Pinellas County
