Summary:

This First Amendment is necessary in order to extend the project timeline to complete the project scope of services as outlined in Exhibit A.  The term has been extended to December 31, 2019.  There is no change to the Funding Agreement amount.

Background/Explanation:

In accordance with the Board’s approval on December 13, 2016, of $7.1 million in BP Economic Settlement Funds and associated match funding for each project, this agreement provides $100,000.00 toward the cost of identifying important habitats within the Tampa Bay watershed.

The TBEP, in partnership with the Southwest Florida Water Management District, has initiated research to identify important hard bottom and live bottom habitats within Tampa Bay.  These hard and live bottom habitats represent unique and diverse biological communities and often provide vital habitat for commercial and recreationally important fisheries.  The understanding of the distribution of these habitats within Tampa Bay is paramount to develop future habitat protection and restoration strategies.

Exhibit A has been updated to reflect extended dates for semi-annual progress reports and for project deliverables.  The County Administrator approved the Funding Agreement on March 15, 2017.
