Sitting as the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Authority, approval of the Second Amendment to the contract acknowledging acquisition of Paramedics Plus L.L.C. by Paramedics Logistics Florida, LLC for requirements of ambulance services.
Contract No. 134-0452-P(JA) in an amount not to exceed $246,443,154.00, through September 30, 2020, with allowance for extension for two (2) consecutive three (3) year periods. There is no fiscal impact associated with this Amendment. Chairman to sign, Clerk of Court to attest.

Summary:
This contract provides ambulance services throughout Pinellas County for the Public Safety Department.
Background Information:
The Board of County Commissioners (Board) approved the ranking of firms for this contract on March 24, 2015. On May 19, 2015, the Board approved the final negotiated contract with Paramedics Plus, L.L.C. The First Amendment to the contract was approved by the Board on November 22, 2016. Paramedics Plus LLC, a subsidiary of East Texas Medical Center, is being sold to A & M Capital. The new owners have formed a series of operating companies from the previous company Paramedics Plus. One such company handling the Pinellas County Operation is titled “Paramedics Logistics Florida, LLC”, (PLF) with its parent company titled “Paramedics Logistics Operating Company” (PLO). The new companies are not owned or associated with East Texas Medical Center nor Paramedics Plus but function independently. The new company’s also function independently from the other operating companies that together constitute Paramedics Logistics Operating Company. Paramedics Logistics Florida retains the same local management and employee base and represents that our local operations will be unchanged including continued contract compliance, insurance and risk coverages.

There is no fiscal impact associated with this acknowledgement.

Funding is derived from EMS Fund Ambulance User Fee Revenues.
