Summary:
On January 10, 2018, a committee met to evaluate the responses received to Pinellas County’s November 16, 2017 Request for Letters of Interest regarding potential litigation related to the opioid epidemic. On February 6, 2018, the Board authorized and directed the County Attorney to negotiate a contingency fee agreement with the lead firm in the consortium ranked highest by that committee. The terms set forth in the attached agreement with Levin, Papantonio, Thomas, Mitchell, Rafferty & Proctor, P.A. were the result of the negotiations that subsequently ensued.
