Summary:
This action extends the expiration date of the grant agreement by six (6) months from February 28, 2018 to August 28, 2018.
In-house staff time, including operating crews and construction inspections crews, were devoted to debris clean-up due to Hurricane Irma. As a result, in-house road crew staff and construction inspection staff that were scheduled to work this project were redirected to hurricane clean-up efforts which delayed the Tampa Road project schedule.
Background/Explanation:
The Board of County Commissioners approved this grant on April 25, 2017.
This agreement is for the purpose of providing 100% of the funding needed for County forces to construct median modifications on CR 752/Tampa Road, from Sandpiper Court to Cornerstone Center. The project includes removal of Qwick Kurb and construction of new raised concrete curb medians at the intersections of Sandpiper Court, Strathmore Gate Drive, Katherine Boulevard, and Cornerstone Center. There are no changes to existing turn lanes or traffic patterns. The project will address safety issues by stabilizing the existing temporary features in the median.
