Recommended Action

Sitting as the Countywide Planning Authority, adopt an ordinance approving Case No. CW 17-15, a proposal by the City of Tarpon Springs to amend the Countywide Plan Map from Residential Low Medium to Employment and Preservation, regarding 9.3 acres more or less, located at the northwest corner of Rainville Road and North Pinellas Avenue (regular amendment).

Summary:

The Planners Advisory Committee voted 12-0 at its December 4, 2017 meeting to approve an alternative compromise to Employment and Preservation. Forward Pinellas, in its role as the Pinellas Planning Council, voted 11-0 at its December 13, 2017 meeting to recommend an alternative compromise amendment to Employment and Preservation on the original application as submitted by the City of Tarpon Springs. The City of Tarpon Springs accepted this recommendation and submitted the Notification of Local Government Action Form to Forward Pinellas in accordance with Section 6.2.1 of the Countywide Rules.
