Summary:
The Federal Legislative Program will set the priorities for advocacy during the upcoming year of the 115th United States Congress.
Background Information:
The Board of County Commissioners (Board) adopted its most recent federal program on November 22, 2016. The updated federal program captures carryover items from the FY 2017 adopted program and new/emerging items that have surfaced over the past year. The Board provided input and discussed the federal legislative program during the December 5, 2017 Work Session. The proposed program is brought before the Board for consideration, amendment, and adoption.
It is understood that it is not an exhaustive list and other issues may evolve during the year requiring the Board to amend the program.
County staff and our federal government relations firm, Van Scoyoc Associates, will closely monitor the program and provide updates as the legislative process progresses.
