Approve four new appointments to the Affordable Housing Advisory Committee for a three year term.

Background Information:
The State Housing Initiative Partnership Program (SHIP) Affordable Housing Advisory Committee reviews the County’s SHIP Local Housing Assistance Plan and evaluates established County policies and procedures, ordinances, land development regulations, and  comprehensive plan to provide recommendations to the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) that facilitate affordable housing while protecting the ability of property to appreciate in value. Triennially, the Committee evaluates the implementation of the County’s affordable housing incentives and submits an Affordable Housing Advisory Committee Housing Incentives Review and Recommendations Report to the BCC and the State.The Committee may also perform other duties at the request of the BCC, including but not limited to the creation of best practices for the development of affordable housing and provision of mentoring services to affordable housing partners. The Committee is regulated by Florida Statute 420.9076.

The SHIP Affordable Housing Advisory Committee is composed of nine members. The Committee members include the five active members of the Housing Finance Authority of Pinellas County (HFA) and four members appointed by the BCC.
