Approve the award of bid to Gannett Fleming Project Development Corporation for the Advanced Traffic Management System (ATMS) Implementation Project on South Belcher Road from Park Boulevard to Druid Road.
Bid No. 167-0346-CP(DF); PID No. 001030A; in the amount of $2,591,876.35 on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications. All work is expected to be completed within 365 consecutive calendar days.

Summary:
The purpose of this project is to install conduit, fiber optic cable, digital message signs, and closed circuit television cameras on South Belcher Road, as part of the County's ATMS network. The elements of this project will enhance the flow of traffic through video detection and adaptive traffic signal control, provide necessary surveillance of roadway and traffic conditions, and provide motorists with information regarding alerts, incidents, and evacuation directives.
Background Information:
This project is part of an overall implementation of the Countywide ATMS/ITS (Intelligent Transportation System) effort that was adopted and funded by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) utilizing the Ninth Cent Local Option Gas Tax in 2006. As part of the overall plan, this segment is being constructed based on a priority list of projects developed by the Board and the Metropolitan Planning Organization.
Fiscal Impact:
Funding for this project is in an amount not to exceed $2,591,876.35 and is derived from the Ninth Cent Local Option Gas Tax (50%) and grant funding through the Florida Department of Transportation (50%).
