5.2 Be responsible stewards of the public’s resources
5.3 Ensure effective and efficient delivery of county services and support

Summary:

The approval and execution of the Drainage Easement transfer will grant the rights and responsibility to operate and maintain the drainage system within the easement to the City of Pinellas Park (City).   The County is transferring the easement to the City because they are responsible for the operations and maintenance permit for the adjacent pond.

Background/Explanation:

The perpetual drainage easement was acquired March 11, 1996.  The County desires to transfer the operation and maintenance responsibilities of the easement to the City.  The operations and maintenance permit for the adjacent pond was transferred to the City by SWFWMD on February 21, 2007. The Drainage Easement transfer will divest the County of any further rights or responsibility in the operation of the drainage system within the easement.

The County-owned pond parcels through which the Drainage Easement runs will be transferred to the City by County Deed under a separate Board action.
