Summary:

Change Order No. 1 (final) decreases the Board of County Commissioners approved expenditure by ($35,381.93), accepts the contract as complete and authorizes final payment.  The decrease in expenditure is due to unused contingency funding and the difference between estimated preliminary and final quantities utilized.  Substantial completion was achieved on March 2, 2017; final completion was accepted on March 15, 2017.   The agreement term was extended by thirty eight (38) calendar days to trim overgrown vegetation which inhibited access to pipe hangers.

Background/Explanation:

The purpose of the project was to perform rehabilitation work on the Bayside Bridge.  Work included concrete restoration, crack sealing, spall areas restoration, milling, resurfacing and structural painting.  The rehabilitation was part of the County Bridge Maintenance/Rehabilitation Program intended to perform periodic maintenance on County bridges.  This is the first rehabilitation project for this bridge and the repairs are expected to last ten (10) years.

Fiscal Impact:

Original agreement amount: $277,085.86

Decrease due to Change Order No. 1 (final): ($35,381.93)

Final revised agreement amount: $241,703.93
