Summary:

The Pinellas County Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan is revised by Emergency Management every four years pursuant to the requirements of Florida Administrative Code (FAC) 27P-6.  Once revised, it was approved by the State Department of Emergency Management and now must by adopted by resolution by the Board of County Commissioners.

Background Information:

The CEMP is the countywide disaster plan and provides the overall picture of how the County prepares, responds, recovers, and mitigates.  From this plan more specific plans such as standard operating procedures and guidelines are written by agencies to meet responsibilities identified in the CEMP.

Fiscal Impact:

The County receives approximately $300,000 in State and Federal pass through funding on an annual basis for Emergency Management activities.  A core requirement of this funding is the creation and maintenance of the State-approved and BCC-adopted CEMP.
