Summary:
In accordance with the Board’s approval of BP projects and associated funding for each project on December 13, 2016, this Funding Agreement with Clearwater Ferry will support the purchase and installation of equipment to improve service on the Clearwater Ferry, the development of a Marine Architect Report to support repowering the vessel, and provide two ADA ramps for Clearwater Ferry vessels to increase accessibility to ferry services.
Background/Explanation:
Clearwater Ferry began operating water taxi services between Downtown Clearwater and Clearwater Beach in 2015 and provides a much needed transportation alternative to Clearwater Beach to help better serve the public and alleviate traffic congestion.
This project will support improvements to the Clearwater Ferry service and ADA accessibility on the Clearwater Ferry vessels.
Fiscal Impact:
This Funding Agreement provides funding of $80,000.00 from the $7.1 million BP Economic Settlement Funds. The funding has been appropriated for this purpose in the FY2017 Budget. The County shall have no obligations related to maintenance, operation, and/or any other activity yielding a fiscal impact.
Delegated Authority:
Authority for the County Administrator to sign this agreement is granted under Resolution No. 16-90.
