Summary:
Tampa Bay Community Development Corporation (TBCDC) is seeking approval by the State of Florida through its application to the Department of Economic Opportunity to become an eligible non-profit sponsor for the Community Contribution Tax Credit Program (CCTCP), and for approval of their Project to rehabilitate scattered site single-family properties and construct new single family homes for low income homebuyers on infill lots in Pinellas County.
The CCTCP provides financial incentives through tax credits or sales tax refunds to encourage Florida businesses to make contributions to eligible non-profit sponsor organizations toward community development and housing projects benefitting low income persons.
Pursuant to §212.08, §220.183, and §624.5105, Florida Statutes, TBCDC must complete and submit an application including a resolution from Pinellas County certifying that the TBCDC Project is consistent with local plans and regulations.
Background Information:
TBCDC, in partnership with Pinellas County and other local governments in the Tampa Bay Area, has been providing housing ownership opportunities, including down payment assistance, housing rehabilitation programs, and housing and foreclosure prevention counseling to low-income residents, for thirty-four (34) years.
Fiscal Impact:
There is no fiscal impact to the County.
