Bid No. 156-0453-B(LN) in the amount of $930,000.00 for sixty (60) months on the basis of being the lowest, responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications.

Summary:

This contract provides for centrifuge repair, parts and preventative maintenance for dewatering and sludge thickening centrifuge instrumentation and controls at the South Cross Bayou Water Reclamation Facility.

Contract pricing is based on an hourly labor rate and also contains a thirty percent (30%) discount off Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) list for parts for the term of the contract and $125,000.00 in unspecified services.  The contract has provision for price adjustments thirty-six (36) months after award based on the Consumer Price Index (CPI); the parts discount remains fixed.

 

Background/Explanation:

On September 21, 2016, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Utilities Department, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for centrifuge repair, parts and preventative maintenance services.  This contract is new and does not replace a current contract.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Estimated sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed:  $930,000.00

 

Estimated annual expenditure not to exceed:  $186,000.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities Sewer operating budget.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to award this bid is granted under Code Section 2-176 (f).
