Approve the Third Amendment to the agreement with Dean, Mead, Egerton, Bloodworth, Capouano, Bozarth, P.A., (Dean Mead) for state governmental relations services.

Contract No. 134-0087-N (SS); in the amount of $150,000 with a revised amount of $450,000 through May 31, 2018.  Chairman to sign and Clerk to attest.

Summary:

This contract provides the County with comprehensive state governmental relations services.  State governmental relations services include but are not limited to, presenting policy recommendations to agencies and elected officials, monitoring legislation and policy, securing public sector funding and advocating for legislation consistent with Pinellas County’s legislative program.  The Third Amendment extends the contract term through May 31, 2018.

 

Background Information:

This non-competitive contract for state governmental relations services was originally awarded by the County Administrator on November 26, 2013, and was amended on January 13, 2015 and November 10, 2015 by the Board of County Commissioners (Board).  The First Amendment modified the original agreement by including additional duties to be performed by Dean Mead and identifying subcontractors to assist in representing the County. The Second Amendment extended the contract through November 30, 2016.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Total expenditure approved to date:                                                                                    $300,000.00

Estimated eighteen (18) month expenditure:                                                               $150,000.00

 

Revised total estimated expenditure                                                                                     $450,000.00

 

Funding is derived from the General Fund, Countywide Support Services - Intergovernmental Program.
