Contract No. 134-0251-NC, amended in the amount of $4,404,082 with a revised total amount of $7,904,082 through December 31, 2019. Chairman to sign and Clerk to attest.

Summary:
This amendment request is for the purpose of designing and constructing a sixth radio tower as well as relocating the South Tower/Dynamic Redundancy site from the current Ridgecrest site to St. Petersburg. In addition, this request extends the contract term to December 21, 2019.
The proposed communications tower and shelter have been designed to meet or exceed the Florida Building Code for wind loading to help provide optimal system performance in the event of a major weather event or act of terrorism.
Background Information:
On February 24, 2015, the Board of County Commissioners approved a contract with Motorola for a design-build turnkey project to replace five (5) radio towers which were beyond their useful life.
The sixth tower, located in St. Petersburg, was not included in the original contract award as it was much more involved compared to the other tower projects due to the need to relocate the dynamic system redundancy, the construction of a hardened radio shelter and the vast amount of equipment located at that site.
The First Amendment was approved by the County Administrator on April 29, 2016 to extend the agreement term through March 31, 2017 to provide the time necessary to meet the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission rules regarding eagle nesting. Under the State and Federal permit, a six hundred sixty (660) foot perimeter must be maintained until the eagle nest at the Fort Desoto site was determined to be inactive.

Funding sources are derived from the Infrastructure Sales Tax (Penny for Pinellas): Public Safety, Other Public Safety Projects Program Allocation.
