Summary:

This amendment is necessary to adopt the changes made by FDOT to language of the original agreement.

This amendment simplifies language for penalties and retainage, increases requirement for records retention from 3 to 5 years to comply with Florida’s public records rule. Changes responsibility for pursuing 3rd party damage insurance and periodic mast arm maintenance from Maintaining Agency to FDOT.

Changes maintenance reporting requirements, critical signal repair timeframes and preventive maintenance inspection schedules. No negative impacts to the County are anticipated with these changes.

 

Background Information:

On August 4, 2015 the BCC executed the Traffic and Signal Maintenance and Compensation Agreement with FDOT.
This agreement provides the mechanism for FDOT to reimburse the County for costs attributed to maintaining traffic control signals and devices on state roads within unincorporated areas of Pinellas County. This agreement provides for a 20 year term.
