Summary:

This TCP was developed through the criteria set forth by the RTM program and requires the installation of a multi-way stop condition on Ridgemoor Drive at Bridgeton Court.

As per RTM Program procedures, a request for relief of speeding was received by the County from neighborhood residents. County Traffic Engineering staff conducted investigations and studies. Petitions were distributed and returned by the affected property owners. Residents provided 65% (60% needed) endorsement of the TCP, and of the affected property owners, 92.6% (90% needed) were notified.

Background Information:

The County’s RTM Program was adopted pursuant to Resolution No. 97-291, dated October 14, 1997, and revised June 4, 2002 and June 7, 2005.  Implementation of the RTM Program provides the County measures to control excessive traffic volumes and speeding in residential areas.  The program also presents ways and means in which citizens can find solutions to residential traffic problems.

Fiscal Impact:

The County estimates the installation of the TCP at an approximate cost of $1,434.69. Staff anticipates additional costs of $236.70 per year for maintenance.

Funding for this program is included in the Department of Public Works, Annual Operations and Maintenance Adopted Budget.
