Summary:
This request seeks to reject bids received for requirements of water meter boxes, lid materials and accessories on the basis of not meeting bid requirements. As the boxes are custom manufactured for the Cooperative, certified shop drawings were required with bid submittals; none of the bidders complied. This solicitation includes requirements from the City of Pinellas Park.
A revised invitation to bid will be released in the near future.
Background/Explanation:
On July 7, 2016, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Utilities Department, released an invitation to bid (ITB) for requirements of water meter boxes, lid materials and accessories. The Utilities Department has been purchasing water meter boxes from the water and sewer materials contract; purchasing from companies that specialize in water meter box fabrication should provide savings.
