Summary:
This amendment realigns appropriation from the General Government Non-Program cost center to the County Attorney's Outside Legal Counsel cost center within the General Fund. Appropriation is needed in the Outside Legal Counsel cost center for the payment of unanticipated outside legal counsel expenses arising from litigation and appeals.
Background Information:
The Outside Legal Counsel program provides resources for the County Attorney’s Office to manage professional contract services for matters involving a conflict or unsupported legal specialty areas.
Fiscal Impact:
This amendment will realign $175,000 to the County Attorney budget. Appropriation is available in the General Fund Reserve for Contingencies. This amendment was not anticipated in the FY16 estimates which were prepared for the FY17 budget development process.
