Sitting as the Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority, approve the following appointments to the EMS Medical Control Board for two-year terms ending September 2018:

Ms. Sharon Hayes, reappointment as hospital administrator representative.

Mr. Roger Haney, appointment as hospital administrator alternate representative.

Summary:

Ms. Sharon Hayes has volunteered to serve another two-year term as a hospital administrator representative on the EMS Medical Control Board.

Mr. Roger Haney has been nominated by Palms of Pasadena hospital to serve a two-year term as a hospital administrator alternate representative for Ms. Hayes on the EMS Medical Control Board.

 

Background Information:

The Pinellas County Emergency Medical Services Special Act established a Medical Control Board (MCB) consisting of four (4) licensed physicians specializing in emergency medicine from facilities in Pinellas County, four (4) Pinellas County hospital administrators, one (1) emergency physician appointed by the Pinellas County Medical Association, one (1) emergency physician appointed by the Pinellas County Osteopathic Society and one (1) emergency physician from a trauma center located
within Pinellas County.

Per Section 3.3 of the EMS Medical Control Board bylaws, a member may recommend to the EMS Authority for approval of an alternate to serve in their absence. The alternate must represent the same category as that of the member.
