Summary:
This contract is for identification, inspection, repair, and associated maintenance services of hydrants and valves located throughout the County. The contract has a provision for a price adjustment at twenty-four (24) months after award not to exceed the average of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for all Urban Consumers, Not Seasonally Adjusted, based upon the prior twelve (12) month period.
Background Information:
On April 8, 2016, the Purchasing Department, on behalf of the Utilities Department, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for hydrant and valve inspection, repair and maintenance services. This contract will enable collection of attribute information, performing operational testing, and as-needed repairs for approximately 40,000 valves over a period of 48 months. Hydrant services will be provided as needed to supplement Utilities Maintenance Division levels of service to Utilities Department customers and partner cities.
Fiscal Impact:
Estimated forty-eight (48) month expenditure not to exceed: $1,895,648.80
Funding is derived from the Utilities Department operating budget.
