Recommended Action

Sitting as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority, renew a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) for each Wheelchair Transport Provider on the attached listing.

Authorize the Chairman to sign the certificates.

Summary:

The firms on the attached list have completed renewal applications and have met the Authority’s inspection requirements to operate as a non-medical wheelchair transport business in Pinellas County. The current COPCNs will expire June 30, 2016.  Upon renewal, the new expiration will be June 30, 2017.  The total number of providers will increase from thirteen (13) in Fiscal Year 2016 (FY16) to fourteen (14) in Fiscal Year 2017 (FY17).

 

Background Information:

Pinellas County Code, Section 54, requires firms providing Wheelchair Transportation Services to apply for a COPCN in order to operate in Pinellas County.
