Approval of the award of bid to Bayshore Construction, Inc. (Bayshore) for the Fort De Soto Park dune walkover project.

 

                     This project consists of the installations of new dune walkovers to provide Americans with Disabilities Act beach access to protect the natural environment.

                     Five bids were received with award recommendation to the lowest responsive responsible bid Bayshore in the amount of $448,198.30.

                     All work is expected to be completed within 270 consecutive calendar days.

                     Bayshore is certified as a Pinellas County Small Business.

 

Bid No. 189-0489-CP(PLU); PID #003010A; in the amount of $448,198.30 based on being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specification.  Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Court to attest.

Summary:

The purpose of this project is to provide new dune walkovers with elevated sections of boardwalk for ADA access to the beaches at Ft. De Soto Park. 

 

Background Information:

The new dune walkovers will be constructed along existing paths through the dune system and will allow for the natural recruitment of sand and native vegetation, as well as provide ADA access to the beach.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Expenditure not to exceed $448,198.30.

 

The source of funding is derived from a U.S. Department of the Treasury, Restore Act Direct Component Grant.
