Approval of award of bid to CEC Motor and Utility Services (CEC) for requirements of motors, parts and motor rewind and repair services.

 

                     This sixty-month contract provides for purchase of new motors, motor parts, motor rewind and motor repair services for the Utilities Department.

                     The total contract cost for the sixty-month term in the amount of $2,544,500.00.

                     Three bids were received with award recommendation to the lowest responsive, responsible bidder CEC.

 

Bid No. 190-0264-B(JA) in an annual amount of $508,900.00 for a sixty-month total of $2,544,500.00, on the basis of being the lowest responsive, responsible bid received meeting specifications. Authorize the Chairman to sign and the Clerk of the Circuit Court to attest.

Summary:

Summary

This contract provides for new motors, motor parts and motor rewind and repair services critical to County water and wastewater system operations.  CEC, is designated by original equipment manufacturers as certified to repair most of the motors utilized by Utilities.

This sixty (60) month contract has a provision for the manufacturer’s suggested price lists (MSRP) to be updated once per year after the initial twenty-four (24) month term

Background Information:

On February 21, 2020, the Purchasing Division, on behalf of the Utilities Department, released an invitation to bid with the intent to establish a contract for motors, parts and motor rewind and repair services. This contract replaces the current contract which expires on June 6, 2020.

 

Fiscal Impact:

 

Estimated sixty (60) month expenditure not to exceed:                     $2,544,500.00

Estimated annual expenditure not to exceed:                                          $   508,900.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities Water and Sewer Revenue and Operating Funds.
