Recommended Action

Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the Interlocal Agreements with ten (10) local government agencies for the designation of Disaster Debris Collection and Removal responsibilities within the County.

 

                     Agreement identifies responsibility between County and participating agencies as cooperators of Disaster Debris Collection and Removal Services contract.

                     Legistar item 25-1510A is the companion item which awarded contracts to vendors for cooperative Disaster Debris Collection and Removal Services.

                     No cost to County associated with the Interlocal Agreement(s).

Summary:

Interlocal Agreement with ten local agencies including the Cities of Belleair Beach, Gulfport, Madeira Beach, Oldsmar, Safety Harbor, Seminole, St. Pete Beach, and Towns of Belleair, Indian Shores, and Kenneth City. The municipalities will participate in the cooperative Disaster Debris Collection and Removal Services contract. This is to ensure compliance with Federal Emergency Management Agency’s (FEMA) Public Assistance Program and Policy Guide.

 

Background/Explanation:

The Interlocal Agreement(s) identifies responsibility between the County and participating local municipalities as cooperators of the Disaster Debris Collection and Removal Services contract. Each agency is individually responsible to seek their own FEMA reimbursements.

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to sign the Interlocal Agreements is granted under Code Section 2-62 (a)(1).
