Approval of the transfer of one vehicle from Pinellas County (County) to the City of Dunedin (Dunedin).
• Pinellas County currently leases a 2014 Ford F350 Firefighting Apparatus (Brush 61) to the City of Dunedin.
• Brush 61 has reached the end of its useful life. Dunedin would like to keep the vehicle. The County would like to release the vehicle to Dunedin at no cost. If transferred, the vehicle will remain available for County fire response.
• A Notice of Termination of Lease was provided to the City of Dunedin on August 5, 2026. Pursuant to the terms of the Lease Agreement, the lease will terminate upon execution of the Bill of Sale transferring ownership of the vehicle.
• Authorize County staff to execute a Bill of Sale, complete surplus procedures, and proof of title transfer to Dunedin.
• The transfer of this vehicle will end all current and future maintenance and replacement costs from the Pinellas County Fire Districts Fund in Safety and Emergency Services.

The transfer vehicle is a 2013 Ford F350 Brush Firefighting Apparatus Brush 61, VIN 1FT8W3D62EEA34968, with siren, light bar, winch, 300-gallon water tank, pumping system, foam system, and booster reel fire hose for firefighting activities. The vehicle was initially identified as a 2013 model and has been updated to reflect the model year 2014, per the title.
Brush 61 has reached the end of its useful life. The City of Dunedin would like to keep the vehicle. Pinellas County would like to release the vehicle to Dunedin. The City of Dunedin would be responsible for any future ownership expenses. Authorize County staff to execute a Bill of Sale and complete surplus procedures. Proof of title transfer to be provided by the City of Dunedin.
The transferred vehicle will remain available for County fire response system. Upon transfer to Dunedin, the County will have no responsibility for its capital vehicle replacement.
Notice of Termination of Lease was given to Dunedin on August 5, 2026. In accordance with the terms of the lease agreement, the lease shall terminate upon transfer of the Bill of Sale. This lease is being terminated to facilitate the transfer of the vehicle to the City of Dunedin. This recommended approach ensures the continued public safety use of the asset. This item has no negative fiscal impact on Pinellas County and will likely save costs in future years.
