Approval of an increase to the blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with Polydyne, Inc. for polymers - water and wastewater facility(s).

Contract No. 134-0453-B(LN) increase to the BPA $210,000.00.

Summary:

This request is for an increase to the BPA for dry and liquid polymers utilized at the South Cross Bayou and William E. Dunn Reclamation Facilities.  Polymer is utilized for the treatment of residuals and is vital to conditioning and thickening of waste activated sludge.  Due to an increase in usage to maintain optimum results, the BPA requires an increase.

 

Background/Explanation:

The County Administrator approved this competitively bid contract on November 3, 2014, with a term through December 27, 2017.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Approved thirty-six (36) month expenditure:                $535,494.00

Total estimated increase not to exceed:                      $210,000.00

Revised estimated expenditure through 12/27/2017:  $745,494.00

 

Funding is derived from the Utilities Department operating fund.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to approve an increase to a BPA is granted under Code Section 2-184.
