Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the second amendment to the agreement with Patterson Veterinary Supply, Inc. to provide and install new kennels for Animal Services.
• This contract provides for the complete installation of 240 back-to-back kennels and runs for Animal Services at 12450 Ulmerton Road, Largo, FL 33774.
• This second amendment increases the contract in the amount of $19,383.00 for a revised total not to exceed amount of $1,197,843.73, detailed as follows:
o $6,783.00 is for additional crew travel required by the vendor due to the site not being prepped when the vendor previously arrived.
o $8,400.00 is for the vendor to uninstall and reinstall kennels that are below HVAC units so the HVAC portion of work associated with this project can commence.
o $4,200.00 in contingency funds should any additional visits be required pertaining to the HVAC work.
• On August 1, 2023, the Board of County Commissioners awarded this contract in the amount of $924,472.41. The first amendment was approved by the BCC on January 30, 2024, for an increase of $253,988.32 due to changes in kennel measurements and the addition of kennel top covers and resting benches.
• Funding is budgeted under the Animal Services Renovation and A/C Replacement in Buildings 200,300,400,600 Project 004009A included in the Capital Improvement Plan funded by the Penny for Pinellas at $4,257,000.00.
