• First Amendment exercises the term extension that adds 730 consecutive calendar days and $3,942,717.00 per the terms of the original awarded contract.
• The County Administrator has authority to approve term extensions originally awarded by the Board of County Commissioners (Board) per Code Section 2-188(d).
• This agreement was approved by the Board on May 24, 2022.
• Funding for this contract increase is budgeted in the FY25 Capital Improvement Program budget under Countywide Boardwalk and Trails, project 004172A, funded by Local Infrastructure Sales Surtax (Penny for Pinellas).
Contract No. 22-0143-CP-MJ; Countywide Annual Boardwalk, Fishing Pier, and Observation Tower Improvements add 730 consecutive calendar days, and increase the agreement amount by $3,942,717.00 for a new total agreement amount of $9,856,792.50.

Summary:
Department requesting to exercise the one term extension available on the contract for an additional 2-years, per the original approved contract.
Background/Explanation:
Proposed improvements as part of the project consist of removal and replacement of decking, handrail, stringers, joists, and wooden piles at various County Park locations. The project will increase public safety by updating existing construction to current standards and codes as well as extending the existing facilities.

First Amendment extends construction agreement expiration from July 14th, 2025, to July 14th, 2027, and increases the agreement by $3,942,717.00, from $5,914,075.50 to $9,856,792.50. Funding for the agreement increase is budgeted in the FY25 Capital Improvement Program budget under Countywide Boardwalk and Trails, project 004172A, funded by Local Infrastructure Sales Surtax (Penny for Pinellas).
