Recommended Action
Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the CC-213 Form for the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) Community Rating System recertification through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
• Certifies that the County maintains FEMA elevation certificates on all new buildings and substantial improvements constructed in the Special Flood Hazard Area.
• Certifies if one or more repetitive loss properties in the community, County must take certain action.
• Certifies that the County is maintaining all flood insurance policies required as condition of federal financial assistance for insurable buildings owned by the County and located in the Special Flood Hazard Area.

Summary:
Every three (3) years, the County must complete a NFIP CRS verification cycle. The County went through the most recent verification visit in August 2022. Completion of Recertification Form CC-213 is required in the non-verification years to comply with the minimum requirements of the NFIP and participation in the CRS program.
Background/Explanation:
The County participates in the FEMA NFIP Community Rating System (CRS). Submittal of these annual recertification forms and documents is a program requirement. Participation in this program provides enhanced public safety, reduced damage to property and public infrastructure, avoidance of economic disruption and loss, and supports a resilient County. Unincorporated County is currently rated a CRS Class 2, which allows for up to a 40% discount on NFIP flood insurance premiums.
