Summary:
Only one (1) bid response was received for the Airport terminal improvements project. Due to the lack of competition on a project of this size and scope and due to the fact that the bid received was over the engineering estimate, staff recommends rejection of the sole bid received. Staff is revising the specifications to reflect questions and clarifications that arose during the competitive bid process and will re-bid this project in the near future.
Background/Explanation:
On October 2, 2015, on behalf of the Airport, the Purchasing Department released an invitation to bid for this project.
Fiscal Impact:
Engineering estimate $8,460,000.00
Funding was to be derived from Airport Passenger Facility Fees.
Delegated Authority:
Authority for the County Administrator to approve rejections of bids is granted under Code Section 2- 176(g).
