Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 1 Final with Ajax Paving Industries of Florida, LLC for Cargo Apron Reconstruction and Replacement of Runway 9-27 with a Taxiway.

 

                     This project was for Cargo Apron Reconstruction and Replacement of Runway 9-27 with a Taxiway. This project will ultimately support the Passenger Terminal Expansion Project, which the Board of County Commissioners awarded on March 28, 2023.

                     Change Order No.2 was a TIME-ONLY change order. No change in the Agreement Price.

                     Change Order No.1 was a TIME-ONLY change order. No change in the Agreement Price.

                     Substantial completion was achieved on October 31, 2024, and final completion was achieved on February 11, 2025.

                     The project warranty was determined to begin on February 28, 2025, following further discussions with the Contractor.

                     Final quantities have been tabulated, resulting in a net decrease of ($310,311.37). This is the difference between estimated and final quantities, and the balance of unspecified work not used.

                     Final quantities have been confirmed by OMB.

                     Funding for this agreement was available under Cargo Apron Rehab and Runway 9/27 Conversion project 000033A, included in the Capital Improvement Plan, funded by the Airport Revenue and Operating Fund.

 

Contract No. 23-0075-ITB decrease the amount of ($310,311.37) for a revised total not to exceed $14,360,306.20

Background Information:

This Project was for the reconstruction of the western portion of the existing terminal parking apron to support air carrier and air cargo aircraft operations, (i.e. Project 1), and the demolition of decommissioned Runway 9-27, (from Runway 18-36 to Taxiway “B”), and construction of a new taxiway, (Project 2), that will ultimately support the passenger terminal expansion project.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Amount not to exceed: $14,670,617.57

Authority for the County Administrator to approve and execute this change order is granted under Code Section 2-62(a)(3).
