Approval and execution by the County Administrator of the First Amendment to the Purchase Authorization Goods Agreement with Sunbelt Rentals, Inc. for equipment and tool rental service.
• The original purchase authorization was for various equipment rentals as needed for a total contract amount of $195,000.00 for 3-years at approximately $65,000.00 per year.
• This first amendment to the purchase authorization provides an increase in the amount of $111,375.86 to provide funding for a one-year rental of a 1000kw generator at W. E. Dunn Wastewater Treatment Facility during the 2023 hurricane season.
• The permanent generator is out of commission due to major engine damage and parts obsolescence. It provided back-up power to two-thirds of the facilities’ electrical load.
• Temporary generator rental is required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection to ensure continuity of operations during power outage events.
• This first amendment also extends the contract in conjunction with the OMNIA Partner piggyback, contract no. R200601, which exercises one (1) twelve (12) month extension revising the term date to October 31, 2024.
• This piggyback agreement was originally approved by the Purchasing Director on December 16, 2020, in the amount of $195,000.00 for a thirty-six (36) month term. The amendment is beyond the delegated authority of the Purchasing Director.
• Funding for this contract is partially budgeted in FY23 in the amount of $135,000.00 in the Sewer Operating Budget. The remainder will be absorbed in the current year. This expense is not included in FY24.
Contract No. 21-0065-PB increase in the amount of $111,375.86, for a revised total contract expenditure of $306,375.86, effective through October 31, 2024.

As a result, a rental generator will be required for the 2023 hurricane season. This will be a six-month rental contract for FY23, with unit pricing held firm for the duration of the contract.
