Adopt the resolution dedicating a portion of County-owned property being a portion of Taylor Park on 16th Avenue Southwest in Section 4, Township 30 South, Range 15 East, as public right-of-way.

                     Resolution to dedicate a portion of County-owned property in Taylor Park in Largo as public right-of-way on 16th Avenue S.W.

                     The parcel has been improved by the County including roadway and / or drainage improvements and is needed for public right-of-way.

                     This road segment is currently being proposed as part of the future Road Transfer Interlocal Agreement between the City of Largo and County.

 

It is further recommended the Clerk of the Circuit Court be authorized to record the resolution in the public records of the County.

Summary

Approval of this resolution dedicates a portion of County owned property, being a portion of Taylor Park, located in Largo, as public right-of-way (ROW).  Specifically, the area is on 16th Avenue S.W. in Section 4, Township 30 South, Range 15 East.  The parcel, as described in Exhibit A to the Resolution, has been improved by the County including roadway and / or drainage improvements, and is needed for public right-of-way. Background Information:

The Department of Public Works partners with County municipalities to better define right-of-way maintenance responsibility in areas where jurisdictional boundaries are shared. The resolution serves to declare public right-of-way over a portion of Taylor Park along that portion of 16th Avenue S.W. in Largo.  Jurisdictional responsibility of the road segment is anticipated to be part of a future Road Transfer Interlocal Agreement between the County and City.

 

Fiscal Impact:

There is no cost to the County for declaring public right-of-way, however an overall reduction to future maintenance costs will be realized when the Road Transfer Interlocal Agreement between Pinellas County, Florida and the City of Largo, Florida is complete.
