Body
Background Information:
Beginning January 1, 2006, the District was created to provide uniform residential solid waste collection and disposal services within the Lealman community. The original assessment was set at $14.00 per residential unit per month.
In 2016, the assessment was increased from $14.00 to $16.00 per residential unit per month to capture costs of the newly awarded collection services contract to County Sanitation.
This calendar year, the assessment will increase from $16.00 to $18.00 per residential unit per month. This increase is necessary to maintain funds to cover contract costs currently set at $17.47 per residential unit per month, which includes annual adjustments in fuel and consumer prices index (CPI) increases, and administrative costs.
Fiscal Impact:
The assessment will provide all revenue necessary to pay for collection and disposal services within the District, as well as all administrative costs associated therein. There is no impact on the General Fund. The assessment is consistent with the Fiscal Year 2024 Proposed Budget.
