Summary:

The COPCN process is a countywide regulatory system for licensing EMS providers and local systems of healthcare. Pinellas County Code, Chapter 54 and Florida Statutes, Section 401.25, requires entities providing ambulance services to obtain a COPCN in order to transport a patient in Pinellas County.

Background Information:

Currently, Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital is issued a single COPCN for Ground and Helicopter Transport covering Interhospital Neonatal and Critical Care Pediatric Patients. To align with their separate vehicle permits and meet the requirements of the state, a request has been made to separate the combined COPCN into one for Ground Transport and one for Helicopter Transport. The expiration date will remain the same December 31, 2017.
