Recommended Action
Sitting as the Emergency Medical Services Authority (Authority), issue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity for a non-medical wheelchair transport to KERT, LLC.
• KERT, LLC has completed an application and meets the Authority’s inspection requirement to operate as a non-medical wheelchair transport business.
• If approved, this Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity will expire on June 30, 2020.
Authorize the Chairman to sign the certificate.

Summary:
KERT, LLC has completed an application and has met the Authority’s inspection requirement to operate as a non-medical wheelchair transport business in Pinellas County.
The Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) will expire on June 30, 2020.
There are currently a total of fourteen Authority approved wheelchair and stretcher van providers.
Background Information:
Pursuant to Pinellas County Code, Chapter 54, firms providing Wheelchair/Stretcher Van Transportation Services are required to obtain a COPCN in order to operate in Pinellas County.
