Recommended Action

Approval of CareerSource Pinellas (CSPIN) Board of Directors’ recommendation to appoint Steven Meier to serve as Acting Chief Executive Official (CEO) of CSPIN.

 

                     The CEO of CSPIN reports to the CSPIN Board; thus, the Board is responsible for carrying out the conditions of the CEO’s contract, which include selecting, hiring, and terminating the CEO subject to Board of County Commissioner (BCC) approval. 

                     The CSPIN Board has recommended Steven Meier as Acting CEO of CSPIN. subject to the approval of the BCC. The CSPIN Board now seeks approval of this recommendation from the BCC pursuant to CSPIN Bylaws.

Summary:

The new CSPIN Bylaws, as approved by the BCC on July 23, 2019 specify that the CSPIN Board of Directors is responsible for “Selecting, hiring and terminating, subject to the approval of the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners, the Chief Executive Official who shall report directly to the CSPIN Board.”

Former CEO, Jennifer Brackney, resigned on February 11, 2022.

The CSPIN Board has recommended Steven Meier as Acting CEO of CSPIN. The CSPIN Board now seeks approval of this recommendation from the BCC pursuant to CSPIN Bylaws.

 

Background Information:

Jennifer Brackney, former CEO of CSPIN resigned on February 11, 2022.  The CSPIN Board determined at a special board meeting on February 11th that they would like to recommend Steven Meier as Acting Chief Executive Official.
