Summary:
The purpose of this receipt and file report is for the filing of general liability settlements and workers’ compensation settlements made under delegated authority to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney. Attached is a memo reporting one (1) general liability settlement and one (1) workers’ compensation settlement for the period of July 1, 2021 through September 30, 2021.
Background Information:
The attached memo dated November 2, 2021, shows the one (1) general liability settlement and one (1) workers’ compensation settlement for the last quarter that required mutual consent for the settlement range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00.
The Board of County Commissioners delegated the settlement authority of claims, with a dollar range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00, to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney, per §2-142(a) of Pinellas County Code.
Fiscal Impact:
The combined total amount for these 2 claims is $99,500.00, paid from the Risk Financing Fund in Fiscal Year 2021.
