Adopt the resolution dedicating a portion of County owned property as public road right-of-way for the Sunset Point Road and North Betty Lane Intersection Improvement Project, PID No. 001018A.

It is further recommended the Clerk of the Circuit Court be authorized to record the resolution in the official public records of the County.

Summary:

Approval of this resolution dedicates a portion of County owned property as public road right-of-way (ROW) for anticipated intersection improvements for the subject project.

 

Background Information:

This is penny-funded project that was approved by the Board as part of their annual Capital Improvement Plan (CIP). During the design of this project it was determined that a portion of County owned property located on the northerly side of Sunset Point Road, from Macomber Avenue to Betty Lane, is required to be declared as public ROW in preparation of future construction activities, and declaring the portion as ROW will serve to set a portion of the County’s property aside solely for ROW purposes.

Dedication of the ROW will allow for construction and installation of two (2) 10 foot x 10 foot box culverts.  The proposed additional ROW will be used to expand the available ROW necessary for construction of the Sunset Point Road and North Betty Lane intersection improvement project, including the spring branch bridge components.  The County is the owner of the two (2) lots contributing the additional ROW for the proposed project.  Dedication of the ROW will separate the required public road ROW from the remainder of the County owned parcels.
