Recommended Action

Sitting as the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Authority, issue a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity (COPCN) to CareCabee Transportation, LLC for the provision of non-medical wheelchair transport.

Authorize the Chairman to sign the certificate.

Summary:

CareCabee Transportation, LLC has requested to operate a non-medical wheelchair transport business in Pinellas County.  The firm has completed the application requirements and has met the EMS Authority’s inspection requirements.

 

Background Information:

Pinellas County Code, Chapter 54, requires firms providing wheelchair transportation services to apply for a COPCN in order to operate in Pinellas County.  There are currently thirteen (13) wheelchair transport providers in Pinellas County.
