Recommended Action:

Approve two appointments to the Pinellas County Educational Facilities Authority for terms of five years beginning on October 27, 2026. These appointments are made by the Board of County Commissioners as a whole. 

 

•                     Two appointments expire on October 26, 2026.

o                     Diana Silveira is currently serving her second term.

o                     Grace M. Smith is currently serving her second term.

•                     The names of the applicants can be found on the attached ballot.

•                     Applications and resumes are also attached.

•                     The Clerk will disseminate the ballots.

Background Information:

The Pinellas County Educational Facilities Authority assists accredited higher education institutions and educational facilities by making loans to help finance facilities and structures which the institutions are responsible for repaying. Projects must be approved by Board of County Commissioners.

The Authority is comprised of five appointees selected by the Board of County Commissioners as a whole and must include at least one member who is a trustee, director, officer, or employee of an institution of higher education.  Each appointee will serve for a five-year term.  There are no term limits for members of the Authority.
