Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order No. 2 (final) with Walbridge Aldinger LLC (Walbridge) for the Terminal Improvements Phase 3 Project at the St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport.

 

                     This project added approximately 12,000 square feet of passenger hold room capacity to Gates 7-10, adding additional capacity of approximately 750 seats.

                     Change Order No. 2 (final) accepts the contract as complete and releases final payment and all remaining retainage.

                     Decrease in the amount of $749,354.48 results from the difference between preliminary estimated quantities and final quantities used, and balance of unspecified work not utilized.

                     The Board of County Commissioners (Board) awarded this contract on March 20, 2018.  The County Administrator approved Change Order No. 1 for time extension only on December 17, 2018.

 

Contract No. 178-0135-CP(SCB); PID No. 001544A; decrease in the amount of ($749,354.48) for a revised final agreement amount of $7,708,645.52.

Summary:

Change Order No. 2 (final) reduces the Board approved expenditure by ($749,354.48) and accepts the contract as complete.  The reduction in expenditure is due to the difference between the preliminary quantities and final quantities used, and balance of unspecified work not utilized.  Substantial completion for this project was achieved on April 10, 2019.  Final acceptance was granted on June 29, 2020.

 

Background/Explanation:

This project adds approximately 12,000 square feet of passenger hold room capacity to Gates 7-10, adding additional capacity of approximately 750 seats.  Additional project elements were rehabilitation to restrooms in baggage claim and second floor restrooms at the west and east sides of the terminal; new restrooms in Gate 7-10 area; upgrades to the passenger security checkpoints to meet current and future capacity demands; new chiller; and additional area for concessions. The Board awarded this contract on March 20, 2018 in the amount of $8,458,000.00.  The County Administrator approved Change Order No. 1 extension on December 17, 2018.
