On December 15, 2015, the Board approved the Interlocal Agreement with the City for the County utility relocations in Mitchell’s Beach Subdivision in coordination with roadway, sidewalk and drainage improvements by the City. Total cost of the project was $550,000.00.

During construction, sections of the 6” potable water main along Boca Ciega Avenue and Boca Ciega Drive, were found to be deteriorated cast iron pipe, requiring replacement. The additional replacement cost for the water main is $330,000.00. The City and the City’s private contractor have agreed to the additional construction improvements and cost.

Background Information:

The County is required to relocate all utilities in conflict with the construction area and shall pay the City for the City’s contractor to relocate the County’s utility facilities. Utilizing the City’s contractor is a cost effective method to facilitate construction activities and limit the disruptions to the area residents resulting in project efficiencies for all stakeholders. Total project construction cost to the County is $880,000.00.
