Approval and execution by the County Administrator of Change Order 1 Final to the agreement with Kamminga & Roodvoets, Inc. for the 46th Avenue North, from 49th Street North to 55th Street North, Roadway Reconstruction Project.

 

                     This project consisted of the reconstruction of the existing roadway, installation of 8-foot multi-use path on the north side of the road and 5-foot sidewalk along the south side of the road.

                     The project was substantially complete on June 24, 2024, and obtained final completion on September 25, 2024.

                     Liquidated damages do not apply, as the county received substantial and beneficial use on June 24, 2024.

                     Final quantities have been tabulated resulting in a net decrease of ($287,758.31). This is the difference between estimated and final quantities and balance of unspecified work not used.

                     Funding is budgeted under the 46th Ave. N. Sidewalk Improvements from 49th St. N. to 55th St. N. Project 002927A funded by the Penny for Pinellas.

 

Contract No. 23-0548-ITB-C decrease in the amount of ($287,758.31) for a for a new final agreement amount of $4,445,150.19.

Summary:

The project was substantially complete on June 24, 2024, and obtained final completion on September 25, 2024. Liquidated damages do not apply, as the county received substantial and beneficial use on June 24, 2024. Final inspections of the project for all work performed under the contract were conducted by representatives of the Public Works Construction Management Division. All work has been completed in accordance with the construction contract documents. The time between substantial and final completion accounts for the duration to complete the walk thru inspection by project stakeholders, punch list items, final testing, project acceptance, receipt, and approval of certified as-builts required, final project deliverables, final approval of permits, Engineer of Record final acceptance and approval, final quantity of materials audit, and receipt of final invoice.

Background/Explanation:

This project consisted of the reconstruction of the existing roadway, installation of 8-foot multi-use path on the north side of the road and 5-foot sidewalk along the south side of the road. Upgraded drainage and sanitary sewer facilities will also be constructed. This project will improve pedestrian safety.

 

Fiscal Impact:

Funding is budgeted under the 46th Ave. N. Sidewalk Improvements from 49th St. N. to 55th St. N. Project 002927A funded by the Penny for Pinellas.

 

Delegated Authority:

Authority for the County Administrator to execute this Change Order No. 1 (Final) is granted under Code Section 2-63(a)(3).
