Summary
The purpose of this receipt and file report is for the filing of general liability settlements and workers’ compensation settlements made under delegated authority to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney. Attached is a memo reporting two (2) general liability settlements and no workers’ compensation settlements for the period of January 1, 2022 through March 31, 2022.

Background Information:
The attached memo dated April 5, 2022, shows the detail of two (2) general liability settlements and no workers’ compensation settlements for the last quarter that required mutual consent for the settlement range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00.
The Board of County Commissioners delegated the settlement authority of claims, with a dollar range of $25,001.00 - $50,000.00, to the joint discretion of the County Administrator or his/her designee and the County Attorney, per §2-142(a) of Pinellas County Code.
Fiscal Impact:
The total combined amount for the general liability claims was $82,000.00. Claims are paid for with budgeted funds from the Risk Financing Fund.
