• Estimated County match of $1,547,212.00 over a two-year project period is Fiscal Year (FY) 2027 ($773,606.00) and FY 2028 ($773,606.00).
• Application submission is required by August 14, 2026.

Summary:
The purpose of this Grant Application is to continue USEPA funding for the existing County Air Pollution Control Program. Funding assists in planning, developing, establishing, improving, and maintaining adequate programs for prevention and control of air pollution. The Grant provides $663,092.00, with a required match of $1,547,212.00 over the two-year project period. The project period is October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2028.
Background/Explanation:
The County’s air program is recognized by the USEPA and State of Florida Department of Environmental Protection as an approved local air pollution control program eligible to receive federal grant funding. The County has the authority, through prior agreements, to protect air quality through the implementation of federal and state air pollution rules and regulations.
Fiscal Impact:
The Grant Application requests $663,092.00 for the two-year term (FY 2027 - $331,546.00; FY 2028 - $331,546.00). Matching funds are estimated at $1,547,212.00. The total project is estimated to cost $2,210,304.00.
Funding is derived from Public Works’ Environmental Management Division's Air Quality operating budgets for FY 2027 and FY 2028. Partial grant reimbursement revenues and associated expenditures, including County match, are included in the FY 2027 Proposed Operating Budget and will be proposed in the FY 2028 Operating Budget.
County match funded in Public Works Environmental Management Division's Air Quality in the Air Quality Tag Fee Fund in FY 2027 Proposed Operating Budget and will be proposed in FY 2028 Operating Budget. Grant is on a reimbursement basis and will not be used should this portion of the FY 2027 not be approved.
